Nick Winston (Choreographer) is an international director and choreographer who has worked in Theatre, Opera and Film.
His productions include: The World premiere of The Adventures of Pinocchio by Jonathan Dove for Opera North and Sadlers Wells
(RPS nomination, Best Opera) and it’s subsequent premieres in Germany for Chemnitz Opera and North America for The Minnesota Opera, directed by Martin Duncan; The Wizard of Oz at The Royal Festival Hall, directed by Jude Kelly; The Thing About Men at The Kings Head Theatre, directed by Anthony Drewe. Horrid Henry: Live and Horrid at The Trafalgar Studios, directed by Hannah Chissick and the World premiere of Tomorrow Morning at The New End Theatre, which he also directed.
International and Touring productions include: A Night At The Opera starring Jonathan Ansell (UK tour); Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance (UK Tour); Another Kind Of Magic (Scandinavian Arena Tour, also director); The Music of Dirty Dancing (International Tour, also director); By Jeeves (UK Tour); Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress and A Twist of Fate directed by Steven Dexter and The Snow Queen (Esplanade Theatre, Singapore) Manhattan Nights (UK Tour, also director) and Grease (Kenwood House, also director)
Regional Productions include: A Christmas Carol directed Nikolai Foster for the Birmingham Rep. Follies (TMA nomination: Best Musical), Humble Boy starring Lesley Joseph and Pinocchio (Royal & Derngate, Northampton), Stepping Out (Derby Playhouse); Parade (Edinburugh Festival); Alfie, starring Darren Day (Watford Palace), The Fantasticks; Bouncers; Putting It Together; Aint Misbehavin’ (also co-director) and Side-by-Side-by-Sondheim (Harrogate Theatre); The Borrowers (Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke), Let Us Fly, directed by Moni Yakem and Dorothy Fields Forever (Kings Head Theatre).
Music Video/Film: Nick choreographed the music video for Bob’s Big Fish (Neil Morrissey/Universal). The Adventures of Pinocchio has had a cinema release and is available on DVD.
Workshops: Nick directed the workshop of Can You Keep A Secret for Perfect Pitch at the Trafalgar Studios and choreographed Loserville: The Musical for YMT.
